  • What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a safe and effective way to access the subconscious mind for the purpose of aligning both your conscious and subconscious mind to work together for your highest benefit. This is achieved through deep relaxation of the conscious mind.

  • What is Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Cranio-sacral therapy is a gentle technique which helps to bring the client's physical body into alignment for optimal function.

Cranio-sacral therapy is almost always combined with all other modalities here.

  • Can I just come in for massage?

Of course!! Massage is just as therapeutic as all the other modalities. Often a great massage is exactly the thing needed for a client to get back into balance. See the massage page for more information on the type of massage therapist I am.

  • Does insurance cover your services?

This really depends on what insurance you have. I do not take insurance, but upon request, I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

I do accept FSA/HSA if you have access to one of those accounts through your job.

  • What does it feel like to be hypnotized?

Most sessions feel incredibly relaxing and peaceful. Some sessions feel both relaxing and tiring, and in those cases, it is because we are cleaning up old messy, stuck beliefs which have been in the way of success for a long time.

  • How many hypnosis sessions do I need?

For quitting smoking/vaping/dip it takes 1-3 sessions.

For everything else it takes an average of 4-6 weekly-biweekly sessions.

Consultations are always free to discuss your situation in more depth if you're concerned or have a more complicated position.

  • Do you combine hypnosis with massage?

Hypnosis can be combined with massage where it is appropriate, in the best interest of the client, and previously discussed.

Hypnosis will never be attempted without a client's knowledge and agreement.

When a client comes in for massage hypnosis typically won't be discussed unless the client asks.

  • What types of payment do you take

Cash, Check, Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Venmo, or FSA/HSA

  • What is medical hypnosis?

Medical Hypnosis is a specialized category of hypnotherapy in which hypnotic techniques licensed by the state are applied to help treat medically diagnosed ailments. These hypnosis techniques do not include the practice of medicine or diagnostics. Hypnosis is an adjunct, not a substitute for conventional medical treatment.

  • Is hypnosis medically approved?

Since 1958, hypnosis has been recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA) as a legitimate treatment modality for a wide range of medical and behavioral problems. Your hypnotherapist may request approval from your physician depending on your specific ailments and history.

  • What disorders or conditions can hypnosis help with?

The mind plays a major role in what is happening in the body and so hypnosis can help with any disorder or condition that you notice is made worse by stress or anxiety and made better with relaxation. This can be anything from Chronic Pain and IBS to PTSD and OCD. There are some disorders and conditions however which hypnosis is contraindicated. Please ask your hypnotherapist about your specific circumstance.

  • How long can the effects of hypnosis last?

In short, hypnotic suggestions last as long as you want them to. Through the process, you are getting a deeper understanding of how you operate and learning to bring alignment to what is happening within your body and mind. These effects last as long as you accept what you learned through the process as truth.

  • Will I remember everything?

It depends on the client. Some clients feel awake but relaxed deeply and remember the whole thing, some remember bits, and some don’t remember anything. The great thing is that it doesn’t matter what you remember for it to be effective.

  • What if I can't be hypnotized?

It is a common myth to believe that there are people who can't be hypnotized. Everyone can be hypnotized due to the fact that the hypnotic trance is a natural state of brain function everyone goes in and out of daily. The main difference is your comfort level with your hypnotherapist and the therapy process, plus your own commitment to reaching your goals.

  • Are you going to make me cluck like a chicken?

Only if you want me to! Hypnotherapy can’t make you do anything you don’t want to do or anything beyond your personal beliefs of what is okay for you. You would simply wake up and probably laugh.

  • Is hypnosis a form of mind-control?

Not at all. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and therefore it is your choice always to follow directions or not. Hypnotherapy can’t make you do anything beyond what feels safe for you. In history when you hear stories of people being brainwashed or mesmerized to do bad things it is really that they were manipulated by someone of authority on a conscious level. You are always welcome to record hypnotherapy sessions if this would make you feel more comfortable.

  • How can hypnosis help me quit smoking?

Right now you tell yourself you want to quit which is in your conscious mind, but your subconscious mind says that continuing to smoke still benefits you. Hypnosis gets both parts of your mind to work together so that it makes it easy to quit.

  • Does it work for quitting vaping and chewing tobacco too?

Yes, the same methods are used.
